Galin PI-3 Powder Injector - Complete

The PI-3 Powder Injector is a plug-in type, and permits easy handling and quick cleaning.
It's made of durable material, and has long service life.
With high-precision model, it's 100% the same as the original one.
It can perfectly adapt to PGC-1 powder coating machine.
The PI-3 injector is used to convey normal organic powders between the powder hopper and
the powder gun. The injector is supplied with a Tefzel powder hose fitting as standard. It is
recommended to use a Teflon powder hose fitting for especially difficult to use powder. The
Teflon powder hose fitting can be ordered separately.
The PI -3 "plug-in injector" allows fast cleaning and easy handling because it can be detached
from the powder hopper without using any tools. All pneumatic connections are also easily
detachable (Quick-release connectors). Depending on the application the pneumatic connections of the PI-3 can be selected either for vertical or for horizontal operation.
Principle of the injector
When air flows through a nozzle into a cavity, a vacuum will be created in the cavity (see figure below). This effect is used now for aspirating powder through a suction opening - a powder-air mixture will be created.
This passes through the nozzle into the insert sleeve and through the powder hose into the gun. The powder output volume depends on the ratio between the conveying and additional air: The conveying air creates the intake depression. The additional air influences the flow velocity. The total air is the sum of the conveying and additional air.
The transport of fine solids such as powder requires a certain air volume per time unit to facilitate airborne conveyance. If a hose diameter of 11 mm is used, the value is approx. 4 Nm³/h. If the powder transport becomes irregular. In order to prevent this from happening, supplementary air is added until the volume of the air in the powder hose is sufficient available once more.
The conveying quality depends on the quality of the powder, the powder hose length, the hose diameter and the number of hose curvatures. Place great importance on the insert sleeve condition, because clogging or sintering causes the powder output to reduce drastically.

| Attention Injector parts may be damaged during the cleaning process. Clean the component parts with compressed air and, if necessary, dissolve sintered deposits with nitro-thinner. Do not use acetone, do not scrape! Individual parts may be damaged during the cleaning process. Please dismantle carefully to avoid damages! |
Cleaning intensity depends of the powder used. For optimal cleaning results, we recommend dismantling the entire injector into its dismantable components.
1. Remove the injector
2. Remove the powder hose from the hose connection
3. Clean the hose connection with compressed air which is free of oil and water, and check for wear
4. Clean the injector body with compressed air which is free of oil and water. Any contamination can be seen through the opening of the hopper fitting
5. If the injector is severely fouled, it must be dismantled
6. Reinsert the injector and fix it
